mBot Class

Electronics, Robotics & Computers

  1. mBot Beginner. Total of 9 lessons, 1 hour each week, code: MB1 Application requirements: year 4 or above; year 3 students need to know Scratch graphic language to program the robot. Beginner course is the best course for children starting to learn robotics, mainly explaining the basics of robot, the basic programming methods, assembling robots, and learn to develop simple robot programs. The course consists of 9 lessons, covering mechanical assembly, sensors, actuators and many more aspects. The course will open the door of the robot world for children, letting them have great interest in robots, programming and artificial intelligence. Course fee (Using equipmentin the lab): $360. Mbot robot can be purchased online for about $150-195.
2. mBot Explorer. Total of 9 lessons, 1 hour each week, code: MB2 Application requirements: year 4 or above, have taken MB1 Beginner; students with no foundation but have had relevant study in high school is applicable. The course uses Scratch graphic language to program the robot. Explorer course still center on students hands-on practice, with principles as aid. Tasks designed are slightly more difficult than the beginner course. The course will focus on: interaction with the robot, specific explanation of various sensors, actuators working principle, programming methods. Students will understand and use various sensors and actuators and make more complex robot system programming designs through this course. Students programming skills will also be improved. Course fee (using equipment in the lab): $390. Mbot robot can be purchased online for about $150-195;
3. mBot Expert. Total of 9 lessons, 1 hour each week, code: MB3 Application requirements: year 5 or above, have taken at least one mBot course. The course uses Scratch graphic language to program the robot and is much more difficult than MB1 and MB2. Expert course will focus on using mBot to design a complex intelligent traffic light system or smart garage management system, where programming is much more challenging and the logical structure is more complex. Through this course, students can master the communication methods between robots, understand the way robots work together, and learn the design process of the complex robot system. This course will greatly improve students ability to program and design systems. Course fee.( Using equipment in the lab): $390 Mbot robot can be purchased online for about $150-195;
